One of the “Lights of Our Lives,” Chas Norton, Retires After Four Decades

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Chas Norton, lighting director, has retired as of Jan. 6, 2006. It was also his 65th birthday. He has been at WGBH for 40 years. I think he got a birthday cake and we all had drinks at a local pub, The Bus Stop, to celebrate his years at WGBH. I suggested he write up his memories for the Web. He is also joining the Reunion Committee.

OMGoodness, Chas. You look “Mahvelous.” I just read Cosels “what goes around piece,”” and so then saw your name so checked you out. You’re retired, how wonderful. Hope you are thriving and enjoying life to the fullest. Are you still in Cambridge? Can we get together??? I’m far from retireming, perhaps it was a big mistake leaving GB, though I accomplised many important personal things. In 2008, I closed up shop (had to) and have been working at FEMA (would you believe it) for the past four years. Would be great to catch up with you and Andrea. Hope you are thriving and exploring. Hasta luego y que sea pronto!!!
