Jayne Chamberlin – in memory

A memorial service will be held today at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Manhattan, for Jayne Chamberlin, a New York actress who in the 1970s appeared in a number of productions for WGBH-TV (Ch. 2) and WCVB-TV (Ch 5) in Boston.
Ms. Chamberlin died Aug. 29 in the crash of a single-engine plane in Peru. She was 47.
At Channel 2, Ms. Chamberlin appeared in “The Reporters.
I would just like to add that Jayne Chamberlin is truly and sorely missed. She was a wonderful human being, a talented actress, a delightful comic, and an incredible original.
She will always be in my memory.
As an actress, Jayne Chamberlin appeared in in numerous WGBH projects in the 70s, among them Boston Common, Boston Proper, Metric Moments, and The Trial of Dr. Kenneth Edelin.
She narrated an episode of Enterprise about blind singer Terry Gibb, and contributed on-air commentaries for The Reporters. She died in the crash of a small sightseeing plane in Peru in 1988.
