Madge Kaplan

Based at WGBH, I served as the Boston Bureau Chief, Health Desk Editor, and Health Care Correspondent for public radio’s nightly business show, Marketplace,  from 1989-2004. I also produced documentaries for 89.7FM, anchored afternoon drive-time announcing, and provided  narration for Descriptive Video Service, DVS, during this time.

I went on to direct communications for the Boston -based Institute for Healthcare Improvement and served on the board of the Cambridge Health Alliance for nine years.  I retired from IHI in 2020 and now divide my time between various health care projects, lending my expertise, and writing short plays.
