Life has been wonderful. I left WGBH in 1996 and went to work as a Senior Advisor at The Philanthropic Initiative (1996-2009, 2013-present) working with private and corporate foundations advising on strategic philanthropy and governance issues. In 2009, my husband Alan was appointed US Ambassador to Spain and Andorra and we moved to Madrid. Serving our country under President Obama and forging deep ties between the US and Spain was an unbelievable and life-changing experience.
Alan and I have been married for 34 years. We have 2 wonderful daughters, Becca (32) and Stephanie (26) and the most perfect dog, our cockapoo, Stella Blu (13). I have been privileged to serve on many not-for-profit boards including Berklee College of Music, New England Aquarium (former board chair), Wang Center for the Performing Arts, Newton Wellesley Hospital, ADL, and others.
Based on our life in Spain, I have written 2 books, The Ambassador’s Wife (memoir, travelogue) and Stella the Ambassadog (children’s book).
